Discover How to Make an Impact

Three undergraduate students working with sheers in patch of greens and flowers in the Berkeley Student GardenLetters and Science students at UC Berkeley are well positioned to change the world for the better. Public service, research, and other opportunities allow students to engage in hands on work that directly impact the community or the world at large.

Best starting place

  • Public Service Center: The Public Service Center brings together students, faculty, and communities to harness their collective wisdom in support of social justice, civic engagement, and transformative social change. There are many programs so you can engage with the kind of public service that resonates with your interests.
  • Berkeley Changemaker Courses/Program: Provides a future-oriented narrative that our whole campus can rally behind, humanists and scientists alike. Its curriculum activates undergraduates’ passions and helps them develop a sharper sense of who they want to be and how to make that happen.
