About Tim

Joined the L&S Office of Undergraduate Advising in:
October 2017

What is your approach to advising?
I have a student-centered approach. I like to encourage students to take control of their education and find a plan that works for them. I offer support and guidance to help students realize their potential.

Education:
B.A.s in Comparative Religion & Near Eastern Languages and Civilization
Masters of Library and Information Science

What's the best class you've ever taken?
It was a team-taught, interdisciplinary course made up of Abnormal Psychology, English Literature, and Anatomy & Physiology. We read Frankenstein and applied Papier-mâché muscles to a skeleton model to make a creature!

What advice do you have for L&S students in general?
Carve out space to think. Not memorize or study, but just think. Take courses that you enjoy and trust yourself to know what is right for you. The path is winding, not a straight line.

About me:
I grew up in the Rocky Mountains and lived for many years in Seattle. I'm a fairly recent transplant to the Bay Area and am really loving the sun! I love the outdoors and swimming.
