What is your approach to advising services?

In my role as an educator and academic adviser, I strive to help my students gain more control over their destiny and to blossom in ways that they never thought possible. I serve students by using a student-centered and holistic approach and have a strong desire to create meaningful relationships with each of my students because I recognize how it can impact achievement outcomes. Ultimately, I aim to help empower my students so that they can positively transform their own narratives and experiences.

How did you get here?

I am fiercely committed to the field of education and began my career in academia as a teacher, working with both middle school and high school students. Through my teaching experiences, I developed a desire to provide students with more individualized social-emotional support, leading me to transition into the counseling field. My devotion to the education and achievements of all students and especially those from historically marginalized communities is grounded in the belief that all students should have fair opportunities and access to resources in order to be successful in their academic endeavors. I am excited to continue this work as a College Adviser in L&S and look forward to supporting you all in reaching your full potential and achieving greatness!

What advice do you have for L&S students in general?

There are so many people on the Berkeley campus rooting for your personal and academic success. Do not be afraid to advocate for yourself and/or seek support from mentors, peers, advisers, and professors. With some help and guidance, you can achieve your wildest dreams.

About me

In my free time, I like to frequent coffee shops and local restaurants. You can find me jamming out and singing (badly) at the top of my lungs at concerts. I enjoy watching true crime documentaries & psychological thrillers and participating in thoughtful discussions afterward. I am also passionate about social activism, specifically related to the topic of mental health and the needs of the Asian American community.
