How did you get here?

I believe in nurturing softness through my everyday interactions with people. Working as an L&S Peer Adviser, I witnessed firsthand just how compassionate and caring the advisors in our office are when they interact with students and fellow advisers. I deeply resonated with the values of our L&S Advisers and I knew that I wanted to continue being a part of the office and their collective effort to support students. I am grateful that I had the support of many people in our office throughout this endeavor because it was largely due to their support and encouragement that I was able to begin my professional academic advising career as an L&S Petition Processing Assistant. I am eager to grow as an academic adviser here in the L&S Office of Undergraduate Advising and I am dedicated to fostering a kind, supportive environment where students feel comfortable and completely understood.

What advice do you have for L&S students in general?

Take time to explore! Students tend to focus on their major requirements, which can cause them to feel consumed by exams and assignments, but it's important to slow down, explore, and enjoy yourself. Being an L&S undergraduate student is truly a valuable experience, as it gives you the opportunity to learn about almost anything that interests you. There are a variety of subjects and unique classes that are open to L&S students, so keeping an open mind can introduce you to a new field of study outside of your intended major that you never knew about.

About me:

I love music! I enjoy watching local bands play shows around the Bay Area and I spend a lot of my free time practicing different instruments. My favorite instruments to play are the flute and guitar, but one of my favorite musical experiences was playing double seconds in my high school’s steel drum band.
