How did you get here?

As a first-generation student, I vividly remember the challenges of navigating college with imposter syndrome and a reluctance to seek support. It wasn’t until my senior year—and later as a staff member at UCSB—that I truly began to recognize the wealth of resources available to students and realized that the university staff is genuinely dedicated to students’ success. This made me recognize my desire to be part of this community, where I can uplift students and guide them toward achieving their goals. I am so excited to be a part of the L&S team and I hope to foster student growth and empower first-generation and marginalized students.

What advice do you have for L&S students in general?

College is a place to explore and discover new things about yourself. Join campus organizations and take advantage of resources! They are designed to support you socially, mentally, and academically. Everyone here wants you to succeed and for you to feel like you belong here-- because you do! Lastly, be open and flexible to try new things.

Most unusual job you ever had?

I do not think I've had any unusual jobs, however, I had a really cool internship in high school where I worked at the Institute of Aging in San Francisco. I was a Friendship Line Intern where I provided emotional support to senior citizens through a warmline.

About me

I was born and raised in San Francisco. In my free time, I enjoy knitting, crocheting, and reading. I am a proud cat and plant mom and a huge Studio Ghibli fan. I am so excited to be back in the Bay Area to explore new places!
