What is your approach to advising?
I believe the key component to succeeding at Berkeley is to identify your passion and to access all the resources available to you. My job is to be one of those resources.

What is your favorite part of your job?
As a college evaluator, I do a lot of work behind the scene to make sure graduating students have completed their requirements to graduate. I like being able to certify degree completion for students.

What is the most unusual job you ever had?
I worked at an upscale optical company all through high school. My job was to tint/ color the lenses for the clients. I loved that job because I was able to create different color schemes for various clients to choose from.

How did you get here?
I grew up in Berkeley and played on the campus as a child. Although I always wanted to become a UC Berkeley student, that didn’t work out for me.  Then an employment opportunity surfaced, so grabbed hold of it!

What advice do you have for L&S students in general?
Get connected. Don’t try to handle the challenges that will come alone.  I guarantee that there is a student support group on campus with similar backgrounds, demographics, and narratives that you become a part of and can help you along your journey.
